Description

TFSI pump plunger DLC coated for all 2.0L TFSI engines.

The tappet for the high pressure pump is subject to very high pressures and tends to wear quickly and should therefore be checked regularly and replaced if necessary.
The tappet is DLC coated on the surface.

DLC is a highly durable carbon coating that is also used in Formula 1 engines. It reduces wear and increases service life.
The pump plunger should be checked regularly for wear. If this breaks, or wears out completely, engine damage is usually pre-programmed.
