CONSPIT 290 GP Formula Racing Wheel
General Description
The True Next Generation
290 GP is the true next-generation simulation racing wheel that realizes the CONSPIT “N+1” product concept. It breaks the planar constraints of similar products through a unique 3D ergonomic design and redefines the shape of Formula steering wheels with multiple structural innovations, aiming to further expand the boundaries of high-quality simulation driving experiences.
The 290 GP is constructed with a molded carbon fiber front panel and a high-strength die-cast aluminum alloy body. It features a 4.3” custom LCD screen, modular RGB ergonomic buttons, dual-clutch paddles, a rocker-type paddle shifter combination, four thumb wheels, three 12-position rotary switches, and two seven-way joysticks.
Highlights
Light Yet Rigid
The molded carbon fiber front panel combined with a high-strength aluminum alloy back cover achieves a lightweight goal of 1350g while providing unprecedented rigidity in the overall structure, ensuring a solid experience when paired with a high-torque direct drive wheelbase.
Breaking Planar Constraints, Redefining 3D Aesthetics
Not limited to a planar perspective, it fully combines CONSPIT’s aesthetic design with structural optimization in three dimensions, seeking the best visual fulcrum.
Breakthrough – Ergonomic Design
To help drivers maintain a leading position in competition, the 290 GP’s attention to ergonomic details will exceed your expectations.
Control Layout
Inspired by the HOTAS (Hands On Throttle-And-Stick) interaction logic in aviation, it maximizes the use of thumb-accessible control areas through a three-dimensional component stacking design.
CONSPIT’s Innovative “Spatial Button Layout”
The height and orientation of all buttons are determined by the natural position of the thumb when holding the wheel, forming a specialized layout within the space. 3D stacking brings a higher operational density. Compared to ordinary planar layouts, each operation becomes more effortless and intuitive.
Enduro
The 290 GP Enduro grips are specifically designed for long-distance endurance driving, offering exceptional durability and ergonomic design to alleviate grip fatigue, ensuring dual durability.
Durable material
Utilizing specially modified TPU material, precision molded in a double-layer injection process, the wear resistance and anti-aging properties far exceed the commonly used TPE material found in most steering wheels on the market. It remains free of debris and color fading even after prolonged use.
Durability Engineering
The grips of the 290 GP are ergonomically designed based on the angles, diameters, and force characteristics corresponding to Formula and some modern GT racing cars;
The grip features are determined by ergonomic principles and market research data, compatible with both two-finger and three-finger lower grip styles, ensuring suitability for most users’ hand sizes and holding habits;
The core holding area is functionally divided to match the curvature of the thenar, hypothenar, and finger joints in a natural holding state.
ErgoTouch Modular RGB Ergonomic Buttons
Each button is independently assembled in a modular structure, ensuring local stiffness and consistent tactile feedback, providing crisp and direct feedback when pressed;
The actuation force and travel distance have been extensively tested and optimized based on subjective evaluations from multiple professional drivers, selecting the best balance point;
The aluminum alloy bezel uses precision machining processes, achieving an almost zero-clearance fit with the button cap, with built-in silicone gaskets providing shock absorption and excellent acoustic performance for the module;
Customizable RGB lighting, supporting telemetry settings.
“Thump-Tick” Thumb Wheel Structure (Patented) – Cross-Section Needed
Based on the force characteristics of the thumb in an upward pointing position when holding, CONSPIT uniquely arranges the self-developed “Thump-Tick” tactile feedback structure in this area.
The wheel diameter, actuation force, and resistance are optimized for “high immediacy” usage requirements, improving interaction efficiency at this advantageous position. Combined with a more durable roller-type encoder, it provides more precise and clear actuation feedback.
“MagFlip” Rocker-Type Magnetic Paddle Shifter Group (Patented)
The rocker-type paddle shifters are derived from real Formula racing steering wheels, allowing drivers to use both “push” and “pull” methods for quick gear shifts;
MagFlip combines this with a powerful magnetic paddle structure to provide robust tactile feedback, achieving the same functionality as real racing car setups without compromising on paddle feel, further blurring the line between simulation and reality.
The sensors utilize Hall-effect non-contact sensing, with sensor assemblies and moving parts completely integrated internally, avoiding electromagnetic interference, dust intrusion, and external contamination. This integrated design ensures maintenance-free operation, durability, and consistent tactile feedback over extended periods, contrasting with independent magnetic paddle systems.
Ready-to-go Dashboard
Fully integrated high-resolution 4.3” instrument cluster, 480×800 resolution, 500nit brightness, 60fps refresh rate
Equipped with multiple meticulously designed instrument pages tailored to simulation racing needs, displaying commonly used telemetry data at a glance.
The proprietary real-time operation pop-up allows drivers to clearly see corresponding changes on the instrument cluster with each maneuver.
CDP Quick Release
Unlike common ball-type single-lock structures on the market, CDP Quick Release adopts a pin + ball design inspired by real Formula racing quick releases. CNC machined from 7075 aluminum alloy, the pin structure transmits torque and is topology optimized to meet high-strength demands, while the ball is responsible for longitudinal positioning without bearing torque loads. This fundamentally resolves the wear issues of traditional ball-type quick releases, ensuring zero clearance even after prolonged use.
Electrical connection between the steering wheel and the base is achieved through spring contacts inside the quick release, ensuring stability, reliability, and plug-and-play convenience.
